Dublin GAA AFL2 football 2012 - Ballinteer pip St Marks to the post in league match

July 16, 2012

Ballinteer Saint Johns took on Saint Marks in a well contested league encounter in Marlay Park on Saturday with both sides needing the points for differing reasons. Ballinteer remained just outside the play off zone prior to the match with a win keeping them in contention with the top teams in the league; meanwhile Marks were 6 points adrift of Johns in the relegation zone and a win would bridge the gap towards mid table.

The match was also noteworthy for the return of former Dublin captain Coman Goggins to the Ballinteer fold.

In the end it was to be the narrowest of margins that divided the sides in a match that could easily have ended in a draw. Full Time Score: Ballinteer Saint Johns 0-13 Saint Marks 1-9.
